A TRIBUTE TO MY FAVORITE TV MOM...

My most favorite tv mom would have to be, hands down, Mama Harper. In my humble opinion, no one will ever surpass her in greatness. Still, to this day, I watch Mamas Family, along with my mom and sister, and we all just laugh and laugh.

I am almost ashamed to admit, that we can watch 1 minute of the opening scene of just about any episode and not only tell you all the highlights of that episode, but start quoting dialogue ver batim. Sad, but true.

I find myself saying, "This is the funniest episode! This is my favorite!" about every freakin' episode.

Nobody can rip into somebody so truthfully and brutally like Thelma Harper.
She made telling people off an art form.

If I had to pick out a favorite episode, I'd have to say one of my family's favorite episodes is the one where Madam Rita, the fake spirit channel er, visits, and Mama has the put the smackdown on her. Another one of my all time faves is where Mama's mama comes back for a visit. But of coarse we can't forget the classic episodes with Carol Burnett, as Mama's daughter, Eunice Higgins. That lady is a hoot too!

There is nothing funnier than Vickie Lawrence as Mama and Carol Burnett as Eunice.

My sister and I have our kids watching now, too. When I'm feeling down, nothing can make me feel better than watching my mama.

And if you don't like Mama, all I can say is, "You aint got the sense God gave a cabbage!"

Some of my favorite "MAMA-ISMS":
1)Poppa says when you're old and fat as I am, you can say anything you damn well please!!
2)You aint got the sense God gave a cabbage!
3) Iola,I consider you to be family, and I'll talk to you anyway I please!!
4)Naomi makes a slug look ambitious!
5)It has to be Iola. Who else's face would fit the crack of a door!
6)Wait till they hear her squeaky voice!! She's going to come off like Pee Wee Herman in drag!
(after Iola gives speech) I want that woman tested for steroids!
7)She called Naomi her "floosie-in-law" and "a hillbilly barbie doll"
8) I bet the neighbors are lovin' this!!!
9) Don't lay this at my doorstep!
10) I may be to blame for him being a patheitc failure, but I'll be flat damned if I'm gonna be blamed for his lack of sperm!
11) Honor thy mother and thy father, that's what the Good Book says, and that's what I did.... I honored that old prune faced harpie till she drew her last breath!
12) With you gone, those slip covers are the ugliest things in the room!
Some of the quotes may not be perfect. I tried to remember them as best I could- and there's a ton more!
